The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) cracks under the weight of his guilt and confesses to Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) that he’s a murderer.
Why tell Sharon? Why not, she’s almost a mental health professional and she’s counseled half the town without a license, including his young son, Connor (Judah Mackey).
Is it possible that knowing that he can trust Sharon, Adam reaches out but in the process of unburdening his conscience, he causes even more collateral damage?

Adam doesn’t believe he is a killer even though his father Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has told him in no uncertain terms that he killed his childhood bestie’s dad. Smarmy Adam is sure that Victor is responsible for the death, and blackmailed his dad with the info.
Surprise—the plot backfired when the truth came out that Victor isn’t such a bad guy after all. Just like that Adam went from being CEO of Newman Enterprises to being just another schlumpy dumpty on the street.
Except that Adam, in a faraway corner of his mind has a nagging suspicion that he is a killer after all. Wanting to banish this inner voice, Adam could approach Sharon for some therapy.

If so, both could be stunned and unprepared when Adam blurts out the truth, that he is the killer. If Sharon is off her psychotropic medication and bound by confidentiality, she can’t tell anyone the awful secret, and under the enormous pressure of facing her illness and keeping Adam’s sins, she could crack.
If the rumor is true, Sharon will soon be another casualty of Adam’s darkness, having a breakdown that no one will understand or be to help her overcome.

Why? The writers have written this character to work hard to get her life on track, obtain a qualification to help others with similar struggles as her own. It’s not like she is unnecessarily stalking the residents of GC to blackmail and cause harm. Sharon’s character is one of the few positive and enjoyable characters.
Sharon is minding her own business. After all, her job is listening to others troubles and business. Remember that she is a counselor and I’m almost certain that Adam came to her and starting tell her about his problems. She didn’t seek him out asking anything, therefore she’s minding her business by helping others with theirs.
Totally, Sharon is on of the few inspirational characters. She has taken her troubles and struggles and tried to turn them into something positive. She doesn’t use people’s problems as an opportunity to screw people over or make money. I love Sharon’s character, she’s not perfect but strives to be and do better.
