Ordering that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), who is the mother of his first-born son, be abducted became necessary in Adam’s warped view of reality. That happened because she saw diabolical plans on his open laptop. Seasoned soap fans knew that the device was intentionally left unattended while Chelsea was present so that this storyline could be furthered.

Adam plans to create chaos at Newman Enterprises. The arrival of an ominous canister, combined with the building schematics Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) accidentally saw, was alarming.

Following Adam’s tell to everyone that he was going to leave them alone, it seems as though he told a purposeful lie. His aim is to make everyone’s life as dark as that which he perceives him to be.

Adam’s need to neutralize Chelsea, via her abduction, would have outraged Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper), if she were still alive. But she’s certainly looking down with disappointment from heaven and hopefully will intervene to keep her Newman friends safe.

Chelsea Lawson Didn’t Anticipate This Outcome

Chelsea knew that Adam was off-kilter. That’s why she contacted Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) and asked him to come to the mansion to meet with her.

He arrived after the fact, as Chelsea had already been taking to the location where Adam is having her contained. The instant Egan’s character realizes what’s happened, she’ll fully understand that Chadam was over a while ago and that she can not endanger herself any longer.

Adam knows that Chelsea recommitted herself to him earlier this year. But he threw that away in another attempt to reconnect with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).

Adam Newman Can’t Stop Himself

Even the reappearance of young Adam (Dane West) didn’t serve to stop thirty-something Adam. The force of his conscience, projected through an image of himself at eleven-years-old, was forceful/. But it hasn’t yet proven to be game-changing.

Adam believes he has no choice but to attack his blood relatives, including Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). In his unbalanced mind, both people and others have wronged him and must face the major consequences that he’s about to impose.
