At least Ashland doesn’t have some mystery blood disease like Victor (Eric Braeden) had in 2019 when he faked his death but was then miraculously cured. Ashland has cancer so at least we are dealing with something real here.

Victoria tries to keep her cool as Ashland explains his condition, but this was the last thing she expected. Is this why he agreed to give up pursuing custody of the son that is legally his without any real fight? So much for the man Kyle (Michael Mealor) has been deathly afraid of all these years. We guess his little health episode at the Newman ranch makes sense.

He seems to be softening her a bit and Victoria feels that she should be there for him.
