The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) learned about Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) tense conversation with their son in Chancellor Park. His harsh comments to her resonated against the beautiful outdoor setting.

Billy’s reference to his son sounded like something the Ice Princess, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), would say. Billy’s behavior toward Chelsea has swung between understanding and rage, based on again allowing himself to be emotionally ruled by the woman, Victoria, who retains outsized influence over him, with all due respect to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).

Billy is Johnny’s biological father. But Billy has hardly been a consistent role model for the boy, who was recently aged a handful of years. So, the character Paxton Mishkind (Johnny) now plays could be a more integrated part of this storyline.

Victoria adopted Johnny out of the goodness of her heart. She loved Billy intensely at that time in the plot and saw Chelsea’s son as an extension of the character who was then played by Billy Miller (Billy).

Chelsea is obviously fragile, as Billy confirmed when he took her to the Grand Phoenix rooftop. So, why berate her about talking to Johnny when she needs a hand up.

The gravity of what Chelsea did, in telling Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) that Johnny was his brother, after Mishkind’s character reacted badly, was not something a stable person would have done.

Connor has always been someone who Chelsea protected. She thought telling him about Johnny would trigger acceptance.

But Chelsea could not see that Connor, like Johnny, did not want the achieved smoothness of his life to be disrupted. Both boys have endured numerous instances of family instability, with this incident added to their emotional burden lists.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Nate Hastings Intentionally Disrupting His Family

While it would still be wrong, viewers could understand why Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) would go after Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) if he was the sole owner of Chancellor Winters. A revenge play, like Nate is engaging in with Johnny’s adoptive mother, would be wrong but seen within that context.

But Nate has no qualms about pursuing an initial public offering grab that will throw his other cousin, Lily, out of power. She has done nothing to him and, in fact, has been his champion.

Family conflicts are something the Newmans and Abbotts are known for. But this storyline writes the connected Hastings, Winters, and Hamilton families into what should prove to be a major daytime battle on Y&R.
