The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will blame herself for Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) issues. He’s been diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder, and she worries his problems are caused by hers.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chelsea Lawson Dealt With Similar Issues In The Past
Chelsea dealt with similar issues in the past, plus depressive and suicidal issues. She once became so obsessed with revenge on Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) she pretended to stay paralyzed after her brain aneurysm burst and plotted to frame him.
She even talked Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) into planting evidence, and small doses of a poison to make Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) sick.
Rey nearly died, and the frame worked until it didn’t-Adam wasn’t trying to steal Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) from Rey and abandon Chelsea.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) arranged for Chelsea to plead insanity but in turn she had to spend some time in a mental hospital; more recently, she attempted suicide.
Y & R Spoilers – Chelsea Lawson Realizes Her Problems Could Be Responsible For Her Son’s
Just in the past few years of Connor’s young life, he’s seen his mother go through many traumas of her own, and obsessive-compulsive behavior can be triggered. Connor has grown up witnessing so many situations out of control he could be triggered by an extreme need for control.
From her own therapy she received when she was in treatment for her suicide attempt, which Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) intervened in, she realizes her own out-of-control life could be responsible.
Chelsea cannot help but blame herself-a child shouldn’t have been expected to deal with her kinds of problems. And, Connor did witness many of those problems, starting with when they came to Genoa City several years ago.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – She Shouldn’t Blame Herself
Chelsea’s told she shouldn’t blame herself, but she can’t help it-although tendencies towards certain mental and emotional disorders can be genetic.
That’s not something a person can help, although she knows that things could be worse-at least Connor doesn’t have schizophrenia, and no one in the family does. That would have been even scarier, and possibly downright dangerous.
What Adam went through at about the same age of Connor was scary enough and look what he went through until his traumatic memories were resolved. Chelsea needs to quit blaming herself and she and Adam need to work together to make Connor’s life more secure.
