Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is coming off his own release from a psychiatric facility, where Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) had him involuntarily committed. That happened after Adam was involved in a series of reckless incidents that included his plan to eviscerate Newman Towers, while his father, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), and his siblings were inside. But something that directly relates to Chelsea also happened in the recent past that connects to her condition.

Adam paid a man, a mostly unseen figure who was actually her real life husband, Matt Katrosar (the abductor). That character knocked Chelsea out and took her to a room in a building that Adam owned.

Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) was held against her will. She was not only restrained, but drank from a bottle of what appeared to be water that was drugged.

So, it’s fair to suggest that Chelsea wouldn’t be enduring this health crisis if the above didn’t happen.

Y&R Spoilers – Adam Recognizes His Behavior

As fans recall, Adam had a breakdown awhile ago. That was when he realized he almost killed Victor by double-dosing his medication. Grossman’s character left town, but later returned.

In this scenario, Adam is truly feeling the effects of all that he’s done. While he hasn’t accepted Victor’s call to change his life, Adam does know that he’s not behaving in a normal manner and needs to adjust.

Chelsea is someone that Adam cares deeply for. Their plan was to flee Genoa City, Wisconsin, in order to avoid further family drama and live near Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) at the boarding school they sent him to. But then the fainting spells happened and the aneurism diagnosis was learned.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victor Newman’s Assistance Accepted?

Adam will be emotionally moved by the coming health crisis that Chelsea faces. He believe that she could be lost and will have the support of his father.

While the exchanges this often at-odds father and son have won’t be fully warm, a new understanding can be reached. It’s time for Y&R to advance this arc beyond the blame-game Adam is playing with Victor.

Pushing to at least a standoff, based on genuine help Victor offers, can generate Adam’s gratitude and reestablish a pathway to trust would be believable. It would also eventually open the door for Adam to work at Newman again, which would surely irk Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).
