The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Christel Khalil is excited about her character Lily Winters’ next saga in Genoa City, and she’s also dishing on her own saga living through the coronavirus pandemic.
Khalil is mom to 10-year old Michael Caden, and both are isolating at the moment in Toronto, Canada with her boyfriend Sam Restagno.
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, “I’m a grade school teacher now,” notes the actress referring to the added roles that COVID-19 has placed on parents. According to the beautiful and talented actress, she’s had to relearn long division and times tables! Luckily, she says her boyfriend is a mathematical genius so she lucked out there!

Khalil met Restagno at the Coachella Music Festival in 2016 and says, “He’s Canadian, so he was really nice … about six months later I knew he was the one.” Aw!

Khalil has no plans to marry at this time but says that she is open to the idea. She and her son are now living in Canada in order to get around the long-distance romance thing. But, things are about to change!

Khalil says that this summer, and once the coronavirus limits are lifted, she plans to come back to Southern California to focus on her career. That will dovetail nicely with the fact that Lily is being seen more regularly.
This time around Lily is playing footsie with Billy Abbot (Jason Thompson) and fans are eager to see where their current business relationship goes.
Khalil thinks that Lily is ready for love after all of the drama with her ex-husband Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard). That drama included a betrayal on his part which ended up with a baby to boot!

Khalil says that she and Thompson, “like to discuss things that are coming up or conversations we’ve had with co-executive producer/head writer Josh Griffith … it’s really collaborative which is nice.”
Will Lily and Billy take their relationship to the next level once original episodes begin airing again? If the heat and sizzle between them is any indication, the answer is definitely maybe Y&R fans!
