The Young and The Restless Spoilers: Christel Khalil Returns To Y&R - Lily Back in Genoa CityChristel Khalil is returning to “The Young and the Restless.” She’s set to make her reappearance during the week of January 6, 2020, and it’s been teased that her comeback has something to do with her family. Khalil was last seen on the show back on October 25, 2019. The actress has moved to Canada with her son but she’s continued to reprise her role on the soap sporadically.

Khalil’s Journey in The Young and the Restless

Khalil joined the show back in 2002 when her character was aged into a teen. The actress left the sudser in 2005 and Davetta Sherwood took over her role until she returned in 2006. She continued to play the role until she decided to drop to recurring status with the soap in 2018.

Why Did She Leave Y&R?

She explained to her fans that her decision was based on her desire to enjoy more freedom in her personal and professional life.

“I wanted you to be the first to know that if you see less of me on Y&R, it’s because I have decided to switch from full-time to recurring status.”

“That means I’m not leaving, just ready — after 16 amazing years playing Lily — to explore new things! I will continue to be a proud member of the Y&R family and look forward to further adventures playing Lily. Thank you for all the love and support over the years!” she continued. Since then, viewers have not seen her on the soap as much as before.

Khalil’s Awards and Other Acting Credits

Her impeccable performance on the sudser has earned her a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series in 2012.

Khalil had minor roles in films like “Dragon Fury,” “Matilda,” “Interview With the Assassin,” and “White Like the Moon.” She was the voice behind Cornelia Hale in “W.I.T.C.H.” Aside from appearing in shows like “That’s So Raven” and “Malcolm in the Middle,” Khalil also performed in Los Angeles theatre productions.

In 2018, she co-starred in the independent thriller movie “Good Deed,” which aired on the Lifetime network under the title “Sorority Stalker.” This year, she also joined the cast of “We Need To Talk,” an independent comedy that’s written and directed by Todd Wolfe.
