Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) first husband revealed the currency of his protective stance when questioning her significant other or whatever romantic terms can be applied to whatever their relationship represents.

Billy and Lily came together at what proved to be a good time in both characters’ lives. Their connection is real, and they do love each other. But developing circumstances and the emotions of the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s seasons are sure to test the strength of their bond.

Billy and Lily are not engaged. They have not been married and have no children. So, her tie to Billy is not cemented.

Daniel and Lily were married before they were adults. Their escape from GC to California, all those soapy years ago, was memorable.

It appears that Billy’s relationship, with whatever that is, with Heather Stevens (Jennifer Landon), is in flux. She is in Europe with Daniel’s daughter, with no known return trip to the United States planned.

Billy is distracted. He feels compelled to serve as a self-appointed counselor for Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan).

Lily’s recent conversation with Chelsea involved multiple messages being sent and received. Chelsea wanted Lily to know she has no romantic intentions toward Billy. Lily let Chelsea know that it would be best for Billy if she does not rely on him.

Billy was also affected by what happened on the Grand Phoenix rooftop. That experience generated a still-existing feeling of concern for Chelsea. She and Lily recognize that reality and are trying to help him deal with it.
