The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) has a moral dilemma. Even though his sister Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) swears him to silence over the survival of their mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) his conscience won’t allow him to keep quiet!

Daniel feels guilty that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) is charged with Phyllis’ murder for one thing, when Phyllis isn’t even dead.

He understands if his mother revealed herself as alive she could be charged with fraud, but the killing of Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) in self-defense is quite believable. He’s been arguing somewhat with his sister over the honestly factor in continuing to lie but Summer’s like their mom.

She just throws it back in his face that she can’t trust him to protect their mother with this secret, and he insists if they’re honest it’s for the best.

He mopes at the memorial for Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) and tells Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) he feels guilty about something but won’t tell her what.

Y & R Spoilers – Summer Newman-Abbott’s Ruining Her Marriage

Daniel, who not all that long ago went through a bad break up with Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) worries that the lies are ruining Summer’s marriage to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).

Summer’s throwing his mother under the bus to protect Phyllis, and once the truth comes out, as it always does, she could lose Kyle. But Summer is very stubborn and doesn’t want to listen to her brother, even though he insists if they come clean to Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) he can help.

Summer is making it seem like if they tell the truth, he’s losing her as a sister over betraying their mother-leaving Daniel in a quandary.

Daniel wants to come clean about what Summer’s told him about Phyllis, even though he has no reason other than her word to believe Phyllis is really alive.

She hasn’t shown herself to him, and Summer says that’s because she doesn’t trust him either-and she was supposed to keep her survival a secret even from him.

Daniel doesn’t like keeping secrets like that when friends and family not in the loop continue to mourn Phyllis right in front of him.

Daniel confronts Summer and threatens to tell all concerned including Chance, that she’s told him Phyllis revealed herself as alive to her.

Since Stark’s body has now been found and bears out the stabbing by scissors just like Summer said, he cannot hold back any longer – Chance especially needs to know!
