Devon and Elena have become a favorite couple with Y&R viewers, however, one of the criticisms they’ve faced is lack of excitement.
Elena has been a big help to Devon as he tried to move on following the death of his wife Hilary Curtis (Mishel Morgan) and their child. Elena has been with Devon through some of his tough times.
Despite any problems they had along the way, the couple keeps reaffirming their love for each other.
The couple is getting serious in their relationship leading to speculation that they might be ready for the next step.

However, going to the next stage in their relationship could be the thing that ends Devon and Elena.
A few weeks ago, Devon was reminiscing about Hilary and their child. He told Elena that he thought a lot about what would have been if the baby lived. Elena told him that he would’ve made a great father, and he will one day.
But will he have children with Elena?
Devon’s talk with Elena about his deceased child has fans wondering if Devon’s thinking of fatherhood.
Devon’s dreams of being a dad were taken away due to a fatal car crash. He’d love nothing more than to settle down and have a family of his own. He believes Elena is the right woman for him and would make a great mother.
But does she want the same things as him?
Elena loves her career as a nurse, and she loves helping others. She and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) are busy creating a new clinic that will provide medical assistance to those in need.

Y&R Spoilers – Brytni Sarpy’s Clinic First Priority
Even though she loves Devon, at the moment her work with the clinic is her first priority. Maybe further down the line, she’ll be ready for married life and being a mom, but right now isn’t the time.
The subject of marriage and kids is an important issue in any relationship. Devon and Elena’s disagreement about their future plans could create a lot of turmoil for the couple.
With Elena’s reluctance, Devon may question whether she really is the right woman for him. As for Elena, even though she loves Devon, she doesn’t want to be pressured into something she’s not ready for.
If Devon and Elena want to continue with their relationship, they’re going to need to have a discussion about what they want for their future.

I LIKE THEM BOTH, BUT THINK THEY WOULD BE BETTER SUITED WITH DIFFERENT PEOPLE. I WANT ELENA WITH NATE AND DEVON WITH AMANDA. PLEASE SWITCH THEM AROUND. I KNOW DEVON AND AMANDA HAVE GREAT CHEMISTRY, BUT NO SO MUCH WITH ELENA.
I think Devon & Elena are PERFECTLY suited!! People who want him with Amanda act like it’s a Hilary do-over, but Amanda is a big drip! And Amanda has ZERO chemistry with Devon… As to the question of marriage, I don’t see the big deal. She’s already living with him, so why not be married to him?! They love each other. As to kids, where’s the fire?! I think kids can happen, for sure, but there’s no rush! And it can’t be all Devon-centric-all-the-time, and be only about what HE ever wants! It has to be about sacrificing self for the other, too, & Elena has done just that for Devon A LOT, & she has proven her love is truly for HIM & not for his money, so let them get married, & wait a couple of years before having a baby… Compromise is what’s needed here, not partner-switching!
