Devon still wants answers about what led Elena to cheat on him with Nate. He has his own assumptions, but he soon realizes that things are not as clear-cut as he thought. He thinks Elena cheated out of revenge, but if that wasn’t it, then he assumes that Elena secretly had feelings for Nate for some time. When he straight-up asks her how long she felt something for Nate, he doesn’t get the answer he expects.

Elena explains that she never had feelings for Nate. Then, she admits that one reason the betrayal happened was that she felt neglected by Devon. For the first time, Devon realizes that this is complicated. Elena isn’t a villain and Devon isn’t a completely innocent victim. Although the revelation stuns him, he finally has a sense of actually understanding the situation. This makes him feel connected to Elena again and the two share a kiss.

Even though Devon and Elena seem to be on their way back into each other’s arms, it won’t be that easy. James told SOD that their journey is going to be bumpy. James did tease that there would be lots of ups and downs.
