Y&R spoilers reveal that everyone was shocked by Jack and ’s engagement announcement. At the same time, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) put their death scheme in motion.
More recently, Ashley moved Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) into the Abbott manse. Then, Ashley stunned Jack by announcing she and Tucker were engaged.
Afterward, Jack and Ashley hurled warnings as well as threats at each other. Then, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) tried to share Ashley’s perspective with Jack.

So, Diane will be cleared of murder charges. At that time, Jack and Diane will probably think their lives will return to normal. That might not happen as Ashley will be furious over Diane’s victory.

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Billy told Jack that Ashley’s coup is out of concern and love. Even though Diane was cleared of murder charges, Ashley is determined to get Jack out of Jabot. At least, Ashley wants Jack out as long as he is with Diane. If Jack and Diane broke up, then Ashley would probably let this takeover scheme go.
So, Jack could try to protect himself by assigning someone he trusts as COO. This person might be Diane.
