The Young and the Restless spoilers show that the show has been exploring the world of mental health and depression with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and it has been a tough one to watch. Not because of the actors, but the material. It’s been so powerful and many people have reached out to the show to tell them how they feel about it.

Egan’s performance as Chelsea dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts has captured everyone’s attention and has fans yelling for her to receive an Emmy nomination at the least. Many believe she should win the award for her performance.

There is no doubt that her performance has been incredible, and made better by Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott) coming into the picture. Let’s not forget that Billy has dealt with his fair share of issues over the years and knows a thing or two about how to handle these types of performances.

After their scene on the roof together, one viewer wrote on Twitter, “Thumbs up to today’s THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS for resisting the urge to air another ‘let’s get costumed- up for Halloween’ episode and having the gravitas to tackle the important issues surrounding depression and suicide. Well-done! #YR” 

It was a fantastic tweet and one that received a lot of likes and comments, however, one comment they probably did not expect!

A comment on the post was from none other than Victor Newman himself, Eric Braeden, who was blown away by Egan’s performance writing, “MELISSA CLAIRE EGAN HAS GIVEN ABSOLUTELY RIVETING PERFORMANCES!! I was very moved!”

We all agree with the man himself that she moved all of us. Now, the question is will everyone’s desires come true and will she be nominated for an Emmy? If we had to guess, we would say yes, it seems like it will definitely happen. The storyline has effected so many viewers and had such an emotional impact it would be hard to overlook!
