The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Eric Braeden Reveals Cancer Diagnosis

The Young And The Restless spoilers indicate that Eric Braeden has decided to share some personal news via Facebook Live. Braeden, who is a very athletic man even for his age, has shared that he has bladder cancer. Braeden hopes that older guys will watch and be aware.

Eric Braeden’s Missed Diagnosis

The Young and The Restless spoilers reveal that when Braeden began having bladder issues to the point of being up every half hour during the night, he sought help. Unfortunately, Braeden’s first doctor did not catch the cancer diagnosis. After weeks of being in the bathroom constantly to have to be catheterized to pee, Braeden finally found help.

Braeden has shared his story so that others may benefit from his ordeal. Braeden’s original doctor thought, like Braeden, that the issues he was having were caused by his prostate. The urologist also suggested a procedure called an Uro-Lift. The UroLift Device is placed through the obstructed urethra to access the enlarged prostate. The device delivers implants that hold prostate tissue back to open the urethra.

After six weeks of painful issues from his bladder problems, Eric says he walked into Cedars’ hospital on the way to work and went to the Urology Department. Braeden then explained that he was in great pain and needed help immediately. Although Eric didn’t have an appointment, he was taken straight in and connected with a well-known Urologist.

Braeden says that after the doctor used a catheter to drain his bladder, he repeated the scope procedure done by the previous doctor. Braeden was then shown the results on the screen, Braeden had bladder cancer. Brady was offered a different way to treat his cancer that seems to be working pretty well and does not involve chemo treatments.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Your Show Helped Me Learn English

As Eric was being examined, the doctor asks if he was an actor, and specifically if he was Victor Newman. Braeden says he talked through the uncomfortable procedure, perhaps to distract him. However, Eric was amused to learn that the doctor says he learned English when he came to America by watching The Young and the Restless.

Braeden’s doctor is treating him with Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG). Although it is related to the germ that causes TB, it doesn’t cause serious illnesses. However, when BCG is put into the bladder as a liquid through a catheter, it helps “turn on” the immune system cells there, which then attack the bladder cancer cells. Eric has had two treatments so far and is doing well. We wish him continued success in fighting this illness.
