Vickie and Abby have had an on-again, off-again relationship. At times, they’ve been jealous over real and suspected inroads with their father. But Abby’s choice to leave Newman Enterprises and create her own business identity brought an end to that in-fighting.

Nick is getting along well with Abby. Like her, he’s been away from the family business. Nick did return to help during a brief crisis period but doesn’t like the corporate culture.

Abby’s relationship with Adam actually isn’t bad, as she hasn’t given him the excessive amount of grief, like Vickie and Nick have, through the years.

Yes, Abby has only been married one time. She and her mother competed for Stitch, with Abby eventually winning.

Stabby didn’t end because of a major blowout. Abby simply realized that she didn’t love Ben and honestly shared her feelings with him. She also was a good stepmother to his troubled son, Max Rayburn (Jared Breeze). Y&R fans recall that specific arc, which ended in 2016, can be clearly marked as the period of maturation for Ordway’s character.

While she’s had plenty of romantic interests, Abby hasn’t endured a series of divorces, or created damage in children’s lives, as her siblings have experienced.

Abby is developing a deep bond with Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz). They have clear chemistry and momentum.

Hopefully Chabs marries later this year. Ordway has long demonstrated the acting talent to expand her character’s range by having Abby become a mother as well.

All is going smoothly at Society. It would be hard to bet against Abby completing her new hotel and eventually beating the Grand Phoenix because of the business success she’s enjoyed in recent years.

Asking if Abby is the most underrated Newman family member seems to produce and obvious one-word answer. Yes.
