The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) has not been acting like herself for months now.
Add in the fact that she’s having hallucinations of Ian Ward (Ray Wise), which has triggered her to kidnap Dominic Winters-Chancellor (Ethan Ray Park), and it’s clear something is not right. Is she being drugged by someone? Could that someone be Ian? Here’s what we know.
Mariah Copeland’s Mental Health History
Despite Mariah’s childhood trauma, she never dealt with any massive mental health meltdowns, so why has the woman snapped so hard now?
It’s been explained that Ian’s final visit to Genoa City, and the extreme actions he took, triggered Mariah’s episodes, causing her to *almost* murder a man while on a business trip. This resulted in a visit to a mental health facility in Boston, which didn’t seem to help her situation.
With that said, it wasn’t too long ago that her mother, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) experienced the very same mental health issues.
Much like Mariah, Sharon was having hallucinations of Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) that were prompting her to do some insane things.
In fact, Ian, along with Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) were secretly drugging the woman as part of a plan to get closer to Mariah. Is the same thing at play here?
Ian Ward Is Still Alive
In addition, Young and the Restless fans know that Ian is still alive. While he was shot by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) during a confrontation at the Ranch and presumed dead, viewers watched in horror as Ian’s eyes opened, while headed to the morgue.
Ian is alive, so is he secretly drugging Mariah, as he drugged Sharon, to cause the girl distress for her betrayal? Is he the reason she’s spiraled?
Is Mariah being drugged by Ian, much like Sharon was? Could Jordan potentially be behind this? Sure, she’s “dead,” but is anyone “gone” in the land of soaps?

I’m a loyal watcher and I’ve been watching Young and the Restless forever but I am so tired of the same story lines over over again. But tell me why should anyone feel sorry for Victor Newman all the heat on whipped on everybody else and now that he’s getting the taste of his own medicine he can’t handle it. And for them to think all of this is Cain’s fault it’s Victor’s fault and Phyllis for stealing it and giving it to Victor. And his kids act like it’s the end of the world when it was all right when Victor was doing it to somebody else. It was all right when he was going after Jack kids did nothing Nikki tried a lot of good that did. Now he’s going after Kane’s family which I feel is very unfair for the writers to write that in like that. When you go up to phyllis’s kids just because her daughter is related to Victor but no you all make Victor out to be the victim. Then Sharon she’s just wacky her daughter’s wacky and you write this in for her to be kidnapping somebody else’s child when Victor’s planning to do the same thing one of these scenarios isn’t going to go right that’s my opinion. What kind of mother Sharon doesn’t go and check on her daughter who’s doing the same stupid junk she did when she threw a body off the bridge. Might not be throwing a party off the bridge but she’s still in somebody’s child there’s no difference she’s being drugged by Ian Ward same scenario so with Sharon but neither one of them wanted to get help. Who’s running the business these two bipolar actresses. And Nick that’s my guy but lately his character’s been messy they act like they don’t know what to do with him. And Adam Victor always makes Adam beautiful guy Adam wants his love so much that he’s willing to go to distance for his father and Chelsea is trying to keep you on the right track. And think about it these are two women Chelsea and Mariah who Victor right into the story to rip havoc on some other person he didn’t care who he was hurting when he did it. But again you expect someone to feel sorry for Victor I hope he gets the taste of his medicine for a long time I hope Cain and Phyllis hold on to as Newman long as possible. Cuz his that’s the case when he reported to the police no because he was doing the same thing with that chip.
