As viewers of The Young and The Restless know, Theo has been getting closer and closer with Lola Abbott (Sasha Calle) and seems to be hanging around her even more now that she and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) are having some marital troubles, and it is this that Jack notices and addresses with Theo.

Kyle and Lola recently got in a big fight over what happened in San Francisco between Kyle and Summer Newman, (Hunter King) and Kyle accused Lola of having Theo in her head more than he had Summer in his, therefore making an admission!

Lola had immediately gone to Theo for a shoulder to lean on! Both Kyle and Lola are making mistakes in allowing themselves to lean on opposite-sex friends, and it sounds like the honeymoon is definitely over for the couple, and they may in fact be headed for a separation because they are not putting their focus on each other! Lola is going to Theo too much for support as well when she should have girlfriends she can talk to about these things!

Y&R Spoilers – Jack Abbott Questions Theo Vanderway About His Motives Where Lola Abbott Is Concerned

While some of this may indeed have been instigated by Kyle himself and his accusations of Theo, Jack has noticed things too and has come to realize that Kyle may have some valid points. Jack will confront Theo about his motives in befriending Lola and his stepping up the friendship right when she and Kyle are having problems. As most people well know, it is never a good idea to have an opposite-sex friend as a confidant when having problems with one’s spouse, because it can cause people to become too closely attached, and in the wrong way.

Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) was just reminded of this by Amanda Sinclair, (Mishael Morgan) when she put up some strong boundaries in their relationship and told him there are different forms of infidelities, not all physical ones – there are emotional ones as well! Jack will likely talk to Theo about this also, as well as to Kyle since he undoubtedly knows something happened on the San Francisco trip between Summer and Kyle, and if he doesn’t, Theo will certainly tell him!

It is understandable with the poor timing Theo has that he could be perceived, and has been perceived, as putting the make on Lola when she has been in a vulnerable position and fighting with Kyle! It is just simply not a good idea for Theo to ramp up his “friendship” with Lola and especially not where people can see what’s going on, like his constant food sampling of her new dishes at Society! It’s not a good look for the company either!
