Speaking to Soaps in Depth in a new interview, the beautiful brunette says that it took her some time to realize that she was one of the biggest names on The Young and the Restless even though some people had already elevated her to icon status. She told the publication, “I remember the day when I picked up the phone after I first got hired on Capitol. It was the publicity department for CBS and the person said, ‘You are one of our daytime stars. I thought I’m a star?’ What? What’s going on here?’”

The actress goes on to say that her success story could have been a fast one as she earned her icon status rather quickly. Jill added, “My career seems to have all happened in the twinkle of an eye. I don’t know about being called an icon, but it’s very nice. It’s better than being called some other names.”

And while Jill Walton might be very modest about her talent, a lot of The Young and the Restless fans say that she’s one of the reasons why they tune in to the show each and every day.
