The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Kola Died For Nothing – Kyle’s Too Selfish & Immature

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Lola Abbott (Sasha Calle) seem to be finished as a couple, which isn’t something Kola fans expected, or deserve. Y&R’s choice to break what was it’s arguably most endearing couple is fully questionable on many levels.

A decision seems to have been made at some point last year to create the Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) character. It was decided that he was to eventually be revealed as Kyle’s cousin through Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams).

As a result of the above, Kola was seemingly seen as a target that could become the central focus of the Kyle-Theo battle. But instead of having Kyle defend who he claimed was his true love, Lola, Y&R had Mealor’s character admit that Summer has been in his head and his heart all along. Really?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Skyle Wasn’t Deep Or Sustaining

There’s no argument that Kyle and Summer Newman (Hunter King) had chemistry once upon a soapy time. Skyle was a legit couple because of proximity, family ties, and convenience.

But no hardcore fan would argue that Summer and Kyle were the most revered duo that ever formed on the show. The former Skyle’s actions and words indicated a connection that was outgrown by the time it was done (again) last year.

Summer manipulating Kyle into marrying her so that Lola would receive one-half of a liver that Mrs. Abbott (meaning Summer) would donate was a trust-buster. So why would Kyle come to realize that he was in love with someone who used his and Lola’s life?

Y&R Spoilers – Theo Vanderway’s Persistence Pays Off

Lola came to find common ground with Theo. They decided that their backgrounds were generally similar. But those claimed working-class roots weren’t deep and Lola was never into Theo until relatively recently.

However, Theo wasn’t the only one who recognized reality in New York. One intriguing aspect of the developing storyline that is believable is that Theo and Kyle both identified each other’s weak spots when they were carousing in the Big Apple during the last decade.

It makes sense that Theo analyzed Kyle accurately and felt that he would leave Lola, which has happened.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Kola Comeback Could Take Awhile

Unless there’s a surprise pregnancy announcement from Lola, any Kola comeback could take a while to develop. Based on what’s developing and the obviously intended demolition of what was an upbeat, young couple, Kyle appears to be heading back to Summer, while Lola takes comfort in Theo’s arms.

An entrenched set of swapped couples may be established, with Skyle and Tola set to square off against the other duo. Fondness within each duo, mixed with animosity, projects to many moments of drama in the coming weeks and months.

Whether the pushed end of Kola was the right call, or not, will be left to the viewers, all of whom should be willing to give at least Y&R the benefit of the doubt. Yes, it is possible that negative feelings about what’s happened will be reversed through outstanding scripts.
