The Young and the Restless spoilers say that after going back and forth several times, it looks like Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) has decided that Summer Newman (Hunter King) is the woman that he wants to spend the rest of his life with – and that’s when he decides to propose to her. But this time around, it’s with true feelings. Here’s what you need to know.

In a new interview with Soap Opera Digest, Hunter King, who plays the beautiful blonde Summer on the hit CBS soap, told the publication, “Instead of just putting her ring away, Summer can’t help herself. She’s so enamored with Kyle that she has to have the ring close to her, so she decides to wear it on a chain around her neck.”

The Young and the Restless spoilers say that one the next day, Summer shows up at the Grand Phoenix to spend a little time with her mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Of course, Phyllis immediately asks if her ring is of the engagement kind when Summer reluctantly confirms it. Needless to say, Phyllis slightly loses her mind. After all, they have been down this road too many times before.

Hunter adds, “She doesn’t want to call her daughter dumb, but Phyllis thinks this is the stupidest thing that Summer could ever do. Phyllis tries to be somewhat supportive so as not to drive her daughter away, but Phyllis is just shocked and even horrified that Summer and Kyle are engaged before he’s even officially divorced.”

However, Phyllis calms down and agrees to respect Summer’s decision, even though it’s quite hard to swallow. Needless to say, there is going to be a lot of resistance on all fronts, including the Abbott and the Newman families.
