The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Mariah Copeland Grapples With Separating From “Bowie”

Viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall that in spite of her only being a surrogate, she became very bonded to the baby she was carrying, whom she named “Bowie” while still in utero. Mariah is finding it extremely difficult to cope with the reality that the baby who she carried for nine months isn’t really hers, even though she agreed to be implanted with Abby Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway ) egg.

Mariah is dealing with even feeling she is losing her sanity – and yet she feels such a bond to the baby, who Abby named “Dominic” (uncast infant actor). Viewers of The Young and The Restless can understand that Abby’s request for Mariah to be the baby’s godmother is not helping any. For Mariah, it only feels like Abby is trying to give her some kind of consolation prize! Mariah doesn’t want to disappoint the people around her who she knows love her, so she continues to try to put on a brave face.

Y&R Spoilers – Christening Day Is Tough For Mariah Copeland

Viewers of The Young and The Restless can imagine that christening day is going to be tough for Maria, but she doesn’t let it show even when her partner, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) talks to her about it. Tessa wants to know how Mariah feels, and Mariah lies to her, telling Tessa that she is looking forward to the baby’s baptism even though she’s really dreading it. It is very difficult for Mariah, who as viewers of The Young and The Restless know, is normally very logical and grounded.

Mariah is feeling deeply disappointed with herself but yet is conflicted, knowing that she shouldn’t feel this way but yet does. Mariah became so bonded to the baby especially when Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) had kept her hostage for unfathomable reasons, because “Bowie” was the only person she had to talk to and she talked to him constantly. Now, she has to find some way to give up both the bond to the baby and the baby himself emotionally, even though Abby has already taken physical possession of him.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Christening Day Arrives, And Mariah Copeland Makes A Decision

Viewers of The Young And The Restless will see Mariah and Devon Hamilton, (Bryton James) who is the baby’s birth father/sperm donor take their places on christening day by Abby, who holds Dominic. Abby came up with the name because it had both a “D” for “Devon” and an “M” for “Mariah” in wanting to pay homage to both of them.

But as the baby is being baptized, Mariah’s eyes fill with tears. She is trying very hard just to keep it together, knowing that people are looking at her. Viewers of The Young and The Restless know that Mariah is in a very vulnerable place, and she’s not comfortable with the attention being even partially on her. After the christening is complete, there is a reception. Mariah comes to a shocking decision that she must talk to Abby about as soon as possible and talks to her about it at the reception – even though there is some question as to if it is the right thing to do or not!
