While Tessa struggles to figure out how to help the woman she loves, Mariah’s attachment to Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor has not faded. In fact, it seems to be growing stronger. Mariah refused to go to Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) and Victoria Newman Locke’s (Amelia Heinle) wedding with Tessa because of the baby. Mariah feared that Dominic might get sick again or could need her and wanted to be nearby.

With Abby facing Chance’s death and going on a downward spiral, Mariah is already questioning what’s best for Dominic.

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Mariah, Tessa and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) took Dominic for a few hours. At the time, Abby was coping with new bombshell information about Chance Chancellor (formerly Donny Boaz). Tessa reminded Mariah that Dominic is still Abby’s baby, whether Chance is alive or not. Devon stood up for Abby and both of them questioned Mariah’s statements. The surrogate was told that she is making calls that are not hers to make.

It is teased that Mariah will put her foot down. Plus, Mariah admitted to Tessa that she can’t help but feel that she was supposed to be Dominic’s mother all along. As the situation spirals and Abby’s grief gets worse, Mariah could cross the line.

If Mariah continues to be fixated on Dominic, Abby’s downward spiral will only make this situation worse. Mariah could decide to try and take custody of Dominic, using Abby’s grief as a weapon. If this happens, as much as Tessa loves her, it will break them up. In fact, Tessa might even help Devon and Abby fight Mariah in a custody battle.
