Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) paternal grandmother is Katherine Chancellor (as played by the late great Jeanne Cooper). His adoptive father is Neil Winters (as played by the late great Kristoff St. John).

Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) convinced Nate that he should leave medicine and switch to the business world. Nate had a falling out with Ashland. However, he was offered and accepted a position with his cousin’s company.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Instilling Confidence In Devon Hamilton

Katherine and Neil were highly accomplished, business leaders. Katherine entrusted her estate to Devon. Neil founded the Hamilton-Winters group so he could live his legacy with his children.

It is noteworthy when high-caliber individuals, like Katherine and Neil, determine that someone possesses potential. Devon realized that potential and has demonstrated he has the insight to make high-level business decisions.

Y&R Spoilers – Lily Winters Is Also In Charge

Jill Abbott Atkinson (Jess Walton) is another respected Genoa City, Wisconsin, business leader. She heads Chancellor Industries but chose Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) to assume her role in the recent past.

As devoted fans know, Lily’s business experience does not match her brother’s. But she has earned kudos for her accomplishments, and Jill is happy that Lily is managing Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).

So, Nate has two cousins who have developed business senses. His expertise is medicine.

But Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) sees what Devon and Lily do not. Her behavior continues to create angst in her sister’s (Amanda Sinclair as played by Mishael Morgan) mind.

Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) was tired but planned to attend the merger launch party at the Grand Phoenix Hotel. However, she was called back to work when two fellow doctors could not report as scheduled.

Nate understood because he is a doctor, with his retired status being voluntary. However, that left him vulnerable to Imani’s ego-boosting comments, which leads to Nate defying Devon and Lily’s wise advice.

Nate’s choice to publicly disclose some of Chancellor-Winters’ future plans will infuriate his cousins. Devon, in particular, will be deeply troubled by Nate’s decision to freelance.

Business skills are developed over time and through mentorship. Nate and Imani have much to learn, as will be seen on Y&R.
