It’s been months since Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) broke up with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), prompting him to spend most of his time sitting in Crimson Lights either to comfort Sharon Collins (Sharon Case) or tell Sharon his woes. At the last woe session, Sharon manages to convince Nick to go for it by doing something he doesn’t usually want to do — work for Newman Enterprises.

Nick has been trying to do good with his money for the Genoa City community but now he has Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) working for him and Noah can pick up the slack he will be leaving when he decides to take Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) up on her offer.

Y&R Spoilers – Victoria Newman Is Nice To At Least One Brother

Yes, Victoria may have screwed Adam Newman over again (something she will likely come to regret), but she wants Nick to come work for her, which would probably be a parenting dream come true for The Great Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). After all, Victoria is now CEO once again and Nick will become COO, so his two preferred children will now be partners at the company he built from scratch.

“What has always been important to Nick is keeping peace in the family and protecting everyone,” Joshua Morrow said in the July 19, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “Nick realized he could no longer do those jobs if he’s not involved in the day-to-day operations of his family.” (And we all know family and business go hand-in-hand for the Newmans.)

However, Nick also has an ulterior motive for accepting the position. He can now both keeps his eyes on Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) and produce a little payback for everything Ashland has done for his family. Victoria got some payback, but it wasn’t enough.

“Nick isn’t back to relax, so until Ashland is completely out of the picture, Nick won’t let his guard down,” Morrow said. “Nick won’t let his guard down and that soon turns out to be a good thing.”
