Viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall that Nick worries about two women in relation to Adam, and that is his ex-wife Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and his ex-girlfriend Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan)! He doesn’t trust Adam with either woman, because he has seen both of them get hurt plenty of times over the years. Sharon was Nick’s first wife, and the mother of Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) who he is trying to keep from going down the path of alcoholism.

Drinking, although it was not her own, contributed to the death of Sharon and Nick’s young daughter Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) and the last thing he wants is to have something happen to Faith behind the wheel of a car.

Longtime viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall that Cassie was driving someone else who was drunk but he lived, and she died in one of the saddest episodes of the show’s history. With Sharon distracted by Adam, Chelsea is not likely to get what she needs and neither is Faith. Nick knows that Sharon treating Chelsea with Adam present at every session is not going to help Chelsea, because Sharon will be too distracted by Adam – and Chelsea will be upset seeing Sharon’s interactions with Adam going on right in front of her! Nick decides he has to intervene and do something about the problem that is Adam Newman! He decides to meet with Sharon’s new husband to try and come up with a plan.

Y&R Spoilers And Recaps – Nick Newman Talks To Rey Rosales

Nick talks to Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) who is already upset with Sharon’s treating Chelsea and having way, way too much contact with Adam! In fact, Rey walked in on them in his and Sharon’s home holding hands, although both swore up and down there was nothing romantic going on between them. Nick tells Rey there doesn’t have to be anything romantic going on, that the problem is there is a codependent bond between the two of them that winds up in the same old destructive cycle for both of them. Adam hurts, Sharon tries to fix the hurt, Adam becomes emotionally dependent on Sharon, and Sharon cannot bear to leave an emotionally dependent Adam like an orphan in the storm!

Chelsea is just a side piece – an excuse – and Sharon is trying to fix Chelsea in order to fix Adam, and Chelsea will get the short end of the stick! Nick is as desperate to get Adam out of their lives as Rey is! Rey has told Sharon he doesn’t want her to see Adam whatsoever anymore for any reason but she balked.

Young and the Restless spoilers show Nick wonders if Adam has any outstanding charges anywhere that he could be brought up on. Rey knows of something in Las Vegas that was brought up because of Chance Chancellor’s (Donny Boaz) pre-hire investigation but he was cleared – he’ll do a little investigating of Adam on the side and see what he can come up with. There’s got to be a skeleton in Adam’s closet somewhere that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) didn’t manage to unearth in his exposés!
