Any relationship with Phyllis can be considered shaky if one chooses to focus on her alone. Instead, informed viewers know that Nick’s history with two particular women he claims to love is strongly checkered.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Sharon Newman Was Wronged
Phyllis took Nick from Sharon Newman (Sharon Case)? No, that’s possibly half the story, with Morrow’s character arguably being more responsible than Phyllis for destroying Shick.
The once great couple, that ruled one of Y&R’s major storylines, off and on, from the mid-1990’s through the mid-2000’s ended ugly. That happened because Nick wasn’t able to properly handle is emotions when Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) tragically died.
Nick opened himself to Phyllis’ overtures and allowed a pursuit of Red to take hold. Cassie’s grieving mother was abandoned by her husband, which crushed Sharon on many levels, deeply impacting her mental health.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Phick Runs Hot And Cold
There’s no doubt that Phick was different than Shick. The development of both couples happened through varied circumstances. With Phyllis, impulse passion was key, whereas the connection with Shick was part of a progressive love story.
Nick has children with two women, as the late Sage Newman (Kelly Sullivan) had Christian Newman (Alex Wilson) with Adam Newman (as then played by Justin Hartley).
Sharon is the mother of Noah Newman (Robert Adamson) and Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) and Phyllis is Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) mother. So, it’s fair to claim that Nick’s deepest relationships are with both of these ladies.

But the above implies something significant about another person who hasn’t yet been referenced, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan).
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chelsea Lawson In Her Own Category
Chelsea touched Nick’s heart in a way that Sharon and Phyllis never did. This isn’t to say that she holds a larger place in his heart than the other characters. Instead, her uniqueness indicates existing potential.
Nick’s decided to end Chick a handful of months ago because he recognized that Chelsea still loved Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and wanted to reform the Chadam family. This choice was made without venom and hasn’t been followed by bitterness, which contrasts with how versions of Shick and Phick generally ended.
Adam’s emerging legal issues could put him behind bars. With that Chelsea may naturally feel the need to turn to Nick, as he remains a trusted confidant. Then, Chick sequel buzz would build.
