The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Passionate Y&R Fan Speaks Out – Enough Abbott Drama!

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Passionate Y&R Fan Speaks Out – Enough Abbott Drama! The Young and the Restless spoilers has been reporting all details regarding the stretched Jack (played by the superb Peter Bergman) paternity arc. And stretched is being kind. Yes, this passionate Y&R fan has had enough with Abbott family drama!

Tell me and my fellow Genoa City devotees if Jack is an Abbott, or not. Some in the audience will likely shut off their HD screens if he’s revealed as not being John’s (as was and hopefully will again be played by the consistently excellent Jerry Douglas) son, but at least those departing viewers would know the answer to this question that should never haven been invented, or asked.

There’s no question that Marla Adams (Dina) has been a revelation since returning to the cast. The idea that a one-time recurring character from the mid-1980’s, who was barely seen since, would become central to today’s proceedings is astonishing. And that’s meant in a good way.

Adams performances since Dina confirmed that she has Alzheimer’s have been absolutely spectacular. Having said that, just about else connected to the storyline spark Dina’s spring stunner caused has been misguided, at best.

There have always been an abundance of savvy soap connoisseurs. Choosing to consume daytime drama(s) in modern times means that this same group knows even more due to internet access and social media sharing. So why were we given a storyline that obviously used fake logic?

Once he learned that his paternity was in question, Jack merely had to have his own DNA sample tested against something John left behind. But Y&R wanted us to believe that not even a single strand of hair was left behind on a saved brush, or that some other personal item from stored mementos wouldn’t have been enough to provide a comparison sample, or that an exhumation of his coffin couldn’t have been ordered.

Unless this memory is faulty, John wasn’t cremated, was he? And even if that happened soapy magic could have easily created a remnant of the Abbott patriarch somewhere. But that wasn’t the case because Y&R wanted to send all of us on an extended goose chase.

So, fans were asked to believe that Jack wouldn’t have thought to pursue his perceived dad’s DNA option before, or after Traci (played with such deep emotion by Beth Maitland) became a half-match and Billy (played by Jason Thompson, who has carved his own deep cast niche) was revealed as not being any type of blood relative?

Y&R fans have been willing to suspend disbelief in the past. We were on board Jaboat as long as those arcs were plausible. But this time, no.

The shame that appears to be rising is that even if Jack’s last name is restored then either poor soul Traci, or the always-painted loser Billy, or maybe both, will be permanently separated from John’s genetics. This type of outcome is totally unnecessary.

Here’s also hoping that Ashley (played by the great Eileen Davidson, who just voluntarily departed the cast) isn’t written out as a cad. Y&R need not sully Ashley’s family-first reputation by turning her into a grudge-filled sister as Davidson exits stage right.

Kyle (played by the smartly recast Michael Mealor) is power-hungry. Please put the blame on him and let’s move on from all of this Abbott family drama!

And a postscript to Y&R’s decision-makers. As was evident, comments about the actors offer heartfelt praise. All that’s being asked is that the talented cast be consistently given strong scripts.
