The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Peter Bergman Teases What’s Next For Jack Abbott

The Young and the Restless spoilers show that unbelievably, Peter Bergman wasn’t really interested in playing Jack Abbott on Young & Restless. After ten years as Cliff on All My Children, he laughed that “I was dragged kicking and screaming to the best job anyone could ever have.” He was ready for a change after that long. “My wife and I didn’t want to move to California, I didn’t want to do another soap, and I definitely didn’t want to replace another actor.” Bergman continued.

While playing Jack on Y&R, it got to a point where he was worried that the Abbotts had lost their luster and Jack was in a mansion all by himself with no one by his side. However, after having eye surgery, he received a call from Josh Griffith, the head writer, and the head of CBS Daytime, which warmed his heart. “They said, ‘We want you to know this is going to be the year of rebuilding the Abbott family. When we get to our 50th anniversary, we want the show to once again be about three extended, multi-generational families in Genoa City.’”

Bergman is delighted with the adjustments being made. The Abbott family is feeling like a force on the canvas once more as a result of the return of Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), not to mention the addition of new family member Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang).

Y&R Spoilers – Is The Abbott Family Back In Full Force?

There is no doubt that fans have been wanting more for Jack over the years, and after the loss of his mother, he was left empty, and alone, and walked the mansion like a ghost. However, since becoming a grandfather, he had found a new purpose, as well as Allie’s arrival in Genoa City. It feels like the great Jack is back and we hope that it continues to go his way because he has a lot of time to make up for.
