Adam was Sally’s protector at Newman Enterprises. But he left and employed the misguided notion that breaking their relationship would provide employment protection.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has mentioned, on more than one occasion, that he does not want Sally to head Newman Media. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) appreciates Sally’s performance but does not appear to think of her as a long-term solution.
By coupling with Nick, Newman Enterprises’ Chief Operating Officer, Sally has another high-profile ally inside the company. Nick does not believe she is using him for cover. But time may alter his perspective on Y&R.

Why does Sally have to the boring, predictable usual stupid soapy female thing and be portrayed as being so insecure she has to immediately jump from one brother to the next before she’s barely had time to shower in between, its so old. Why not have her sensibly take a little time to clear her head and focus on promoting her career without having to sleep with her boss. Then her romance with someone (not a Newman) might be more fresh and interesting as a story. Adam isn’t the love of her life, they couldn’t make it last 5 minutes unlike his relationship with Sharon and Chelsea. With Adam and Nick sharing a line line of women neither seems to have foundvuet another true love in Sally more like another two kids trying to take the others toys. Nobone is looking good in this love triangle, its not doing these characters any favors.
