Soap operas have placed a pause on production, but could there be some changes ahead once they resume? Is it possible we could see a popular star, Billie Joe Armstrong on the CBS soap, The Young and the Restless in the near future?
Armstrong has made it no secret that he would love to air on the show. He shared a set picture of the hit daytime drama series back in February. It was also said that he gave a little a shoutout to Michael Mealor’s Kyle Abbott and Hunter King’s Summer Newman. What does this mean for him? Does he watch the show on a regular? Will his desire for a little soap airtime come to fruition?
The Young and the Restless Update – Billie Joe Armstrong Really Likes The Soap
Armstrong teased his love for the CBS daytime drama in a number of ways. He even got candid about his desires with James Corden. On April 28, he and his sons performed a cover of Tommy James and the Shondell’s song “I Think We’re Alone Now” for The Late Late Show with James Corden. In the same chat, he confessed that he wants to get in acting and in particular acting on daytime soap operas.
The Grammy winner stated, “I think so, I like to think of myself as a pretty decent b-movie actor. I have a thing, I wanna do things like The Young & the Restless, or do a soap opera”, he stated back in February when the topic came about.
Y&R Spoilers – Loves Of Music And Is Fond Of Acting
Armstrong is known as Green Day frontman. He loves music and is quite fond of acting and the soap opera genre. It is not unusual for singers and big screen actors to have a desire to partake in the soap opera world. It is noted as one of the most challenging environments to work in as it is very fast-paced.
Rather than getting several takes at a scene like in a movie or primetime television actors are usually given one shot at it and this is why it is classified as one of the most challenging work environments in the acting world.
The world of soap operas is also where a number of big-name television and primetime stars got their kick start in the acting world. Plenty of stars start with soaps and then move on to putting their names on the map. Armstrong already has his name on the map with his music, so we would definitely love to see him give acting a shot, what do you think?
