Trysts in the office seem to be stock and trade among the Newman children, but when it’s lower level and not the CEO and COO getting it on, it’s somewhat downplayed.

Victor isn’t happy with either Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) or Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) being involved with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) nor her pregnancy, but those aren’t high level power positions.

Adam and Nick have been offered to work together on McCall Enterprises which Victor just purchased from Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) which doesn’t have the optics that Newman Enterprises does.

Victor becomes aware of the business trip that Nate and Victoria took to California and that Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) busted them together-and Nate confessed to her about the illicit sex.

He decides it would be less awkward for Nikki to talk to their daughter about this and that she should be given the chance to confirm or deny.

Victoria figures that her mother is calling her over to talk about some Newman Enterprises business deal, or maybe it’s something to do with the McCall purchase.

Nick, after all, had been working with her in her office previously, Nate having taken his place after Nick got all mixed up with Sally.

Victoria had told him that it didn’t look good for him to be carrying on with a woman Adam had been involved with, and that she had mental problems in California.

Victoria is shocked when she finds out what Nikki really wants – is it true that she and Nate are having an affair? Now Victoria realizes Elena must be sniveling to anyone who’ll listen and she and Nate have become the fodder for people like Leanna Love (Barbara Cranston).

There are rules in most companies forbidding employee fraternization for a reason but since this is a family-owned business Victor and Nikki have never laid anything down in writing.

Still, the optics are not good when multiple people know that the CEO of Newman Enterprises is having an affair with her COO and he’s involved with someone else. Nate and Elena may not be married but in the modern world, living together is taken as a marriage type partnership.
