The Young and the Restless Spoilers Wednesday January 1: Adam Kisses Chelsea, Phyllis; Change of Plans, and Nick Celebrates His Birthday

The Young and the Restless spoilers for Wednesday January 1st indicates that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) kisses Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) changers her plans, and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) celebrates his birthday.

Nick arrives home and is greeted by Chelsea, who surprises him for his birthday. She gives him a framed photo of them together with the boys, then an empty frame for the special moments they’ll have in the future. Nick blows out the candle on the cake, and Chelsea asks if his wish was for Adam to be out of their lives. Nick asks why Chelsea won’t leave Adam’s place, and she says it’s because of Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), but she admits that Adam does still love her. Nick’s upset that Chelsea isn’t coming home soon and comments that Adam’s winning the battle. Chelsea once again asks Nick to be more understanding. She tells him she loves him, then promises to meet him at Society.

Later at Crimson Lights, Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) surprise Nick with muffins and tell him that he’s not old. Phyllis comes in and joins the festivities. Nick mentions Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) party, and Summer issues an invitation to her mother, yet doesn’t have any interest in going. When Summer and Faith leave, Phyllis gives Nick Brewers tickets as a birthday gift. An overjoyed Nick thanks Phyllis for the gift, and says he’s happy they’re friends again.

Phyllis then goes inside where she sees Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz). She wishes him a Happy New Year, and he asks if her resolution is to stop asking about Vegas. She responds no, then makes a comment about Chance not having to go to the gym since he’s fit. When Chance mentions he’s going to Abby’s party, Phyllis says she’s going and she’ll see him there.

Back on the patio, Summer and Faith are sitting with Nick. Faith goes inside, giving Summer a chance to ask Nick about Chelsea. The two chat, then Summer gives her dad a hug.

Phyllis is at the Grand Phoenix when Adam comes in. She makes a comment about how he makes her ill. Adam thanks Phyllis for blabbing to Nick because he told Chelsea and now things appear to be going Adam’s way. Phyllis calls Adam out over his obsession with Chelsea, then he explains that Chelsea knows about his plot, yet didn’t leave the penthouse.

Phyllis once again rants about not being in love with Nick, then brings up how Adam’s treating her. Adam doesn’t buy her excuse, then says Phyllis gave up because she realize Nick doesn’t love her. They continue to throw barbs at each other, then Phyllis vows everything’s going to change, this will be a good year for her.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Devon and Elena postpone the trip

Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) are at their penthouse. They postponed their trip because Elena wants to keep a check on the baby found at the Newman ranch. Devon tells Elena he’s proud of her. Elena receives a text from Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), who says the mother and baby are doing fine, and they’ve found a new place to live. Devon discusses his work with New Hope, then he and Elena share a kiss.

Later Chance arrives to talk with Devon about finding Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers). Elena receives a text from the woman, who says the baby is in trouble, and Elena and Devon take off.

Devon and Elena arrive at the hospital to help Sasha with the baby. Elena checks on the baby, while Devon tells Sasha the medical bills have been taken care of. She talks about leaving the baby at the Newmans and worries about her daughter, but Devon assures her everything will be fine. Elena comes out to say the baby’s fever is down. Sasha thanks Elena and Devon for their help.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers  – Victoria wants to help Billy

At Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) house, she tells Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) about Abby’s party. Billy says Victoria will probably have to ring in the new year without him, but promises he’ll try to make it in time to share a kiss at midnight. Victoria recalls one New Year’s Eve where she found Billy plastered and vowed to save him.

Billy secretly thinks about how Victoria views him as a man who needs to be saved. Billy then says out loud what if the man he was back then is who he is supposed to be. A concerned Victoria asks if Billy’s gambling again, and he responds he needs more in life such as freedom, excitement, and happiness. Victoria promises Billy he can fix his problems, but he looks uneasy as they hug. Billy then says he needs to go to meet the executive team, then once outside texts Amanda Sinclair (Mishel Morgan).

When Chelsea arrives back at the penthouse, Adam shows her the supplies he picked up for Oliver. He then shows her a drawing Connor made of them as a family. Chelsea worries that she’s giving Connor and Adam false hope by living there. A frustrated Adam realizes Chelsea’s been with Nick, then says Chelsea is too scared to admit she still loves him. Adam kisses Chelsea, but she pulls away. She leaves, then warns him not to come to the New Year’s Eve party. He tells her that he’s invited and he’ll see her later.
