The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) appears to love his wife. At the same time, he did lie about cancer. So, his endgame must involve proving his innocence because the open accusations against him are not ever going away.

Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle) fell in love with Ashland. While she is furious at him and believes he manipulated her emotions to achieve the merger, love is not lost.

Love is the challenge both characters face on Y&R. If Ashland is to remain a viable character, some out will need to be written for the recast role Newman is playing. So, will Victoria facilitate that?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Cyaxares Was A Trojan Horse?

Devoted viewers recall that Ashland (as then played by Richard Burgi) came to Genoa City, Wisconsin, with the intent to see a division of his conglomerate. So, Cyaxares went up for sale.

In retrospect, that effort seems telegraphed. If Ashland planned to lie about having cancer from the start, he was using Cyaxares to gain a foothold in GC and with the Newman family.

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has been patting himself on the back in recent weeks, claiming that he never trusted Ashland. But even modest scrutiny of Victor’s actions does not match his supposed belief.

Y&R Spoilers – Why Allow Merger Considering The Diagnosis?

If Victor is so brilliant, he could have prevented the merger from happening until after Ashland died. It is understood that various circumstances played into the merger being rapidly realized last fall, with Victor’s lack of action feeling like a hole in the plot.

Victor is not as omnipotent as he makes himself out to be. His early skepticism of the cancer diagnosis was allayed by Ashland’s verbal statements and public incidents where he seemed genuinely weakened.

As for Victoria, she pushed the merger hard. She assumed that Ashland was near death. It appears as though she is reserving some doubt in case Ashland did not lie or if his duplicity was not as complete as it seems to be.

Young and the Restless Spoilers – Ashland Locke Can Not Accept Status Quo

Ashland can not tolerate Victor, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc), and others who continue to trash him. Newman’s character knows that his wife needs to see proof in the relatively near future.

Victoria is acting in the best interests of Newman-Locke and herself. She can not allow Ashland to get away with his legal and moral crimes. So, her plan should prevent Ashland from gaining a controlling interest in the combined companies. Whether this couple remains married and in love is yet to be seen in daytime.
