The Young And The Restless Spoilers: When Did Fen Come Out And Who Is His Boyfriend?

The Young and the Restless spoilers show that Fenmore Baldwin (Zack Tinker) had quite the splash when he returned to Genoa City, this time, sporting a young man on his arm. It was a bit surprising to see this character casually show up and introduce his boyfriend Trey!

Obviously, the majority of the Fisher-Baldwin family was not surprised by this. Yes, Gloria Fisher (Judith Chapman) did a little amount of mugging, but just when the waiter asks if she needs more champagne. However, The Young and the Restless spoilers show Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) approached, shook Trey’s hand, and said, “It’s fantastic to meet you in person, at last.”

Trey was plainly present solely to pose questions that would serve as the basis for the many Lauren-centered flashbacks, so his name might as well have been subplot. It’s also not the worst storytelling technique ever employed, but it can feel a bit stale.

The issue is that we were unaware that Lauren and Michael’s son was gay until Fen entered the room with Trey (no last name?). Due to the fact that this entire event occurred off-screen, we were never able to see him telling his parents or learn how they would react.

To say the least, it’s unexpected for Fen to suddenly appear with a partner. However, it also highlights a more serious issue—namely, how little time we now spend with the Fisher-Baldwin family. This has been brought up by fans several times across social media and perhaps something that the writers would want to take note of!

The writers could have easily given us scenes of Michael and Lauren discussing the news, perhaps even confessing they were having trouble coping with the unexpected discovery, even if Fen’s portrayer, Zach Tinker, who also plays Sonny on Days of Our Lives, was unavailable for extra episodes. We yearned for a scene in which Summer, the erstwhile object of Zen’s affections, encountered Trey and perhaps gave him a quick glance.

Instead, all we got was Fen entering with his random boyfriend, after serving his function, will probably vanish into thin air and never be seen again.
