The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Who Will Be New Villain After Ashland’s Death?

The Young and the Restless spoilers show that there is going to be a large hole to fill after the passing of Ashland Locke (Robert Newman). While over the last year he’s been built up as a character that could toe to toe with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). However, this void has once again been introduced.

With the arguably bad way that Ashland was “dealt with” off-screen, it feels like we had all of this build-up for nothing, and instead, he may just disappear into the wind as if nothing ever happened. Many viewers feel this storyline was handled very poorly, and the stories of the ‘Lochness Monster’ didn’t exactly come to fruition with the lackluster way he exited.

Over the decades, many have stepped into the shoes of the lead villain, and even Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) seemingly was as he constantly went to battle with Victor. However, over the years their rivalry has softened, and outsiders have come into Genoa City in an attempt to go against these larger-than-life people.

Now, I believe the tides will shift toward Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) being the main big bad. With news of a journalist, Talia Morgan (Natalie Morales) coming to town to investigate Diane, it looks like they may be trying to set her up to become the next big hurdle for everyone.

With secrets and lies following behind her, Diane has left a trial that so far only Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) has been able to pick up and watch as she continues to seemingly play everyone after all of these years.

Y&R Spoilers – Diane To Become The Dark Villian

While Ashland was much more of a hands-on and confrontational villain, aside from his lying about cancer, I think Diane will be much more of a manipulative monster, being able to control the people around her to do her bidding for her. There are already rumors that Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) is working for her and was an asset to get Jack’s attention.

Unless they introduce another new character as they did Ashland, I believe all signs point towards Diane. While she played nice and had her time, it seems her time has come to attempt to take over the Abbotts and get what she believes is hers.
