The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Tyler Johnson (Theo Vanderway) set the internet on fire with an April 3 tweet. The teaser tweet had fans speculating that he is returning to the show—could it be that he is bringing his pompous and pompadoured self back to Genoa City, Wisconsin?

He posted a pic of himself on a motorcycle, looking for all the world like a strapping action adventure hero and captioned it: “OK, I can finally give a little hint… new announcement coming next week!”

Of course the natural conclusion a lot of fans jumped to was that the handsome and talented star is returning to daytime. There was even speculation about him coming back in a new role.

One fan wrote, “Wish it was for new leading role… for [the] character of Derek.”

Last week it was announced that Y&R put out a casting call for a character named “Derek.” Admittedly, the character description could fit Johnson, especially given the picture of himself zooming through the great outdoors on an adventure.

The description called for a young manly man who is into adventure, dashingly handsome and all American to boot. But this also led to speculation that the character is actually a recast of Chance Chancellor formerly played by Donny Boaz.

Y&R Spoilers – Is Theo Vanderway Coming Back To Genoa City?

In addition to all the speculation his tweet garnered, there were a lot of cautions from fans about wearing a helmet, like this one: “Wear a helmet please, Sweetie. I really love you and keeping your head in one piece is really important to me. Too pretty to crack. Be safe, please.”

California has a helmet law, so if Johnson was riding his hog there, he’d be in for a ticket!

No sooner had Johnson tweeted his good news, than a fan asked, “Movie or a series?” Apparently Johnson is not good at keeping a secret, because he responded with one word, “series.”

Well, that answers that question and so much for waiting to spill his beans. It appears Johnson has been tapped for a series, but that doesn’t exclude him from a Y&R return. He has made an appearance since leaving, and there is always trouble for Theo to get into.
