The choice being requested will naturally elicit emotion from devoted viewers. That’s understandable considering the now three-season spanning time frame they’ve invested in all characters connected to both arcs.
Okay, so it’s been revealed that Ashley (Eileen Davidson) was conning her brother. Jack (Peter Bergman) has been John Abbott’s (Jerry Douglas) son all along!
Y&R presented a series of flashback scenes that showed Davidson’s departing character taking advantage of Dina’s (Marla Adams) Alzheimer’s condition earlier this year. Ashley prompted her mother, who admitted in the mid-1980’s that Brent Davis (Bert Kramer) was her biological father, to falsely recall that some unknown guy, not John, was Jack’s sire. DNA test mayhem ensued, along with plenty of lies to many Abbott family members.
Some write-out needed to happen due to Davidson’s voluntary exit from the cast, which will take place at the end of this month. This proved to be that, with whatever viewers think of the outcome.

And then there’s the still-evolving J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) storyline. Y&R fans are now asked to believe that some unknown person is attempting to blackmail Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Vickie (Amelia Heinle), Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), and Sharon (Sharon Case) for a reason that must be connected to their coverup.
The idea that this particular foursome would have ever formed was a stretch when it was presented to the audience last spring. But they were mashed together and became the aptly nicknamed coverup crew.
All involved characters can’t possibly spend many years in jail after all is revealed. So some incredible closing course climax must soon be coming that resolves all that’s happened in some digestible manner.
Fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ rightfully express their opinions on a regular basis. So, which storyline is more incredible, Ashley conning Jack, or J.T.’s coverup crew existing? Please vote in our poll below!
