The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Fen and Lauren Rock On – Ana Next Duet Partner

Fen (Zach Tinker) isn’t Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But his debut performance with his mom, Lauren (Tracey Bregman), who was Danny’s former duet partner, made hardcore fans and newer viewers smile this week on Y&R. Soon, they’re likely to see Fen and Ana (Lauren Lott) paired professionally and personally.

Damian was a huge daytime star back in the proverbial day (in this instance meaning the mid-to-late 1980’s and 1990’s). Somewhat similar to Rick Springfield (Dr. Noah Drake) on ‘General Hospital’ and some other soap stars, Damian experienced commercial success with his cover single, ‘Rock On’, in 1989. Springfield had various hits, including, ‘Jessie’s Girl’, which was driven by a classic music video in MTV’s first year, 1981.

Tinker’s first vocal effort was presented as part of Ted’s (Sean Muramatsu) Jabot party karaoke, which was part of the holiday bash Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) threw for her employees at the Genoa City Athletic Club. Viewers could see that Tinker and Bregman were lip syncing. Whether the Fen recast is actually a performer, like Danny and Lauren once were, remains to be seen. But it’s clear that Y&R is weaving music back into its scripts.

Fen is serious about his career switch. Lauren supports her son because she’s walked in his shoes. Michael (Christian Le Blanc) wasn’t on board, but was surely moved by his wife and only offspring’s warm-hearted efforts.

The Baldwin and Baldwin (Lauren’s term) dreams appear over and the likely six-plus tuition figures Fen’s parents spent are probably down the tubes. Yet, the direction Tinker’s edition of this character has taken is fully upbeat.

Devon (Bryton James) is in possession of Fen’s digital demo. The head of LP Streaming seems primed to pair his sister, Ana with Fen to recreate a modern version of Danny and Lauren. No known nickname existed in the 1980’s for them, but ‘Lanny’ rings true. As for Fen and the lady he’s already taken a liking to, Ana, ‘Fana’ project as a hit.
