The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Jack and Phyllis Grow Closer – Philly Over, Phack Revisited

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Billy (Jason Thompson) are likely over on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Soapy signs indicate that ‘Phack’ will now be revisited.

Jack (Peter Bergman) has increasingly been available to Phyllis in 2018. The formerly married couple came to terms awhile ago and have since been slowly crawling back to each other, or that is how Y&R fans could choose to interpret this duo’s seeming rapprochement.

Billy broke Phyllis’ heart in a much different way than his brother did. As viewers recall, Phyllis felt betrayed by Jack not standing up for her after Marco (also played by Peter Bergman) was revealed and Victor’s (Eric Braeden) link to the doppelganger was exposed.

In start contrast, Billy learned about ‘Phick’s’ claimed one-off revival during ‘Shick’s’ attempted remarriage and then purposely cavorted with Summer (Hunter King). Intriguingly, Phyllis and Summer quickly healed their rift and seem to be coordinating a reprisal against the man who they feel wronged them. What a trio this group is.

Is Jack allowing his heart to lead him back to trouble, meaning Phyllis? Her known history is replete with repeated obsession, needless turmoil, and many other villainous plotted points. That subjective sentence understands that Jack is no prize himself, which leads to the below.

If someone is an addict, as Jack is, should that person align himself with another individual who has repeatedly proven that she can’t control herself? Many of Jack’s loved ones have never been thrilled with Phyllis, in either her Michelle Stafford incarnation, or the current edition that Tognoni offers.

However, the potential of redemption and a belief that everyone deserves someone, even if that person isn’t ideal, is surely being considered by both Jack and Phyllis. Both parties know each other’s histories and would bring that knowledge to another ‘Phack’ sequel.

Y&R’s devoted, savvy audience is omniscient, along with the show’s off-screen staff. It will always be easy to tell Jack and Phyllis what to do, or to second guess their choices. But these fictional characters don’t possess the luxury of looking down upon themselves in Genoa City.
