Well, Mariah (Camryn Grimes) has learned the truth on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Tessa’s (Cait Fairbanks) reluctance to detail her blackmail scheme made sense, but became necessary due to emotional pressure that was applied. Now that everything has seemingly been revealed, numerous lives are about to be dramatically changed, again.

Seasoned viewers felt the threshold being crossed. This break in the long-running J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) Dies storyline, that dates exactly back to April 13, 2018 is monumental. Mariah’s knowledge won’t be stored, forgotten, or overlooked. No, it will be acted upon.

Y&R fans now know why Tessa was hired to work at Dark Horse on the overnight shift. That plot device allowed her to happen upon J.T.’s hidden files that were located inside emails Nick (Joshua Morrow) received through the hacker he hired while gaslighting Victor (Eric Braeden). The soapy device was needed to propel the wrap of what has been an engaging arc.

Tessa’s complex explanation of her information get was understood by those who are in tune with technology, a term that often translates to useful and therefore expensive gadgets. The reveal about J.T.’s previously unknown video surveillance of Vickie (Amelia Heinle) further devolves a character who was once a regular guy, while also allowing hardcore viewers to understand how Tessa was able to blackmail the coverup crew.

Mariah’s full allegiance to her mother means that Sharon (Sharon Case) will soon know what Tessa divulged. Considering Miss Porter’s survivalist moves, she seems unlikely to remain in her minimalist apartment waiting to be confronted by her shakedown targets. Yes, a bolt of some type appears to have been telegraphed.

In addition to the seeming smash of their friendship, Mariah and Tessa must now address what’s coming next. Mariah will protect those who she loves. Tessa has a contact, her sister Crystal (Morgan Obenreder), in Canada.

No shady coyotes will be needed if the unmasked blackmailer attempts to flee the country and head north this time. Of course that assumes Tessa escapes capture and prosecution as Mariah and the coverup crew deal with their own problems.
