The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Summer Pushes Lola To Kyle – Couple Switch Happens

Summer (Hunter King) has been using Kyle (Michael Mealor) for awhile on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But he’s been fighting back and now, Lola (Sasha Calle) is also helping to dramatically change the younger Y&R generation’s equation. The one-time couple known as ‘Syle’ is over, as ‘Kola’ continues to form this fall.

Kyle openly expressed his existing feelings for Summer in recent months. She dismissed his emotions, which hurt. However, being used by Billy (Jason Thompson) has provided Summer with a new perspective. Yes, Kyle looks like a good option now.

Calle is a recent and terrific addition to Y&R’s already deep cast. Her likability quotient is high and the character she’s playing naturally serves as a complete contrast to King’s transformed alter ego. A working class young lady who’s earning her way in the world as compared to an entitled member of the Newman group, which is hardly a family in any real sense of the word.

Running to the Abbott mansion in the middle of the night, as Lola mentioned, revealed that Summer has no boundaries where Kyle is concerned. After sending so many mixed signals since returning to Genoa City, Summer wants to start a relationship again? At least that what her actions imply, unless, of course, she’s just keeping Kyle on a string, tugging at his heart when she’s in need.

Lola believes that Summer is mad jealous and as such will serve as an indefinite problem source for Kyle. Sure, in time Miss Newman would move onto some other guy. But the amount of havoc she’s already created is measurable and the amount of mayhem she’s bound to cause is predictable. Why would Kyle want to remain connected to her now that Lola is a real option?

‘Syle’ represents the earlier version of this one-time couple. Kyle, as then played by Lachlan Buchanan and others, was Summer’s boyfriend in her younger days, when she was still likable. ‘Kola’ is a partial reason why Michael Mealor was likely cast. The show chose to take this character in a new direction, which includes a new type of life with Lola.
