The soap world is mourning the loss of a veteran actor. Also known as Tom Fisher on “The Young and the Restless,” Roscoe Born, has passed away at the age of 69. His death was announced by a friend and business partner on Facebook.

“It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of Roscoe Born’s passing. He was an incredibly talented actor and songwriter. Many who knew him to know how dedicated he was to social and political causes. He will be missed forever,” Deanna Lynne said.
Since then, many of the late actor’s fans and friends sent their condolences to his loved ones and expressed their shock and sadness over his passing.

Greg Rikaart tweeted, “Roscoe Born was a talented and generous actor and a kind man to boot. He would often say that everything he did was for his daughter. My thoughts are with her and his family today.”
Melissa Archer who played the role of Natalie Buchanan on “One Life To Live” also tweeted, “I can’t put into words how incredibly heartbroken I am to hear of Roscoe Born’s passing. He was an incredible partner to work with and a master in his craft. I can say without a doubt that some of my favorite work on OLTL was with Roscoe. He will be greatly missed.”

Viewers may recall Born from his different roles in daytime television. Aside from appearing on “The Young and the Restless from 2005 to 2006 and again in 2009, he was also part of the cast of “Ryan’s Hope” as Joe Novak from 1981 to 1983 and again in 1988.

He then appeared on “One Life to Live” as Mitch Laurence from 1985 to 1987, returned in 2002 until 2003, and in 2009. Many viewers know him for his role as Robert Bar and his twin Quinn Armitage on “Santa Barbara.” He appeared on “Paper Dolls” and “The City” as Nick Rivers.
His alter ego, Nick, was a musician and it gave Born the chance to showcase his musicality. Viewers can view the actor’s more recent songs on YouTube including “Bob Dylan’s Pepsi Blues”; “Blue State Mind, Red State Soul”; “Soldier On”, and “If It Doesn’t Stink, Don’t Stir the Pot.”
He guest-starred on “Murder, She Wrote,” “Midnight Caller,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “The Six Million Dollar Man,” “All My Children,” “As The World Turns,” “Passions,” “and “Days of Our Lives.”
