Alice Hunter, who plays Kerry Johnson, is on her way out of Genoa City. Reports say that Hunter has finished filming her scenes on “The Young and the Restless.” Hunter also confirmed on social media that she is leaving the show, and her co-stars threw her a farewell party last week.
“To all asking – yes, Kerry is taking an indefinite hiatus. She earns it though you’ll see soon enough. I LOVE the arc, even if I’m sad to leave. And yes, a bunch of #YR cast & crew surprised me Friday and it was something I’ll never forget,” she wrote on Twitter.
“My mentors. My friends. This journey has been indescribable,” Hunter also said. Kerry was introduced in October last year as a new chemist at Jabot when Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) took over as the company’s new CEO. Hunter’s character remained to be mysterious, what her history and her intentions are. She became a new love interest for Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), and while she was hesitant before, she eventually fell for him.
They seem to be in a happy and stable relationship, albeit Kerry not being a hundred percent honest with Jack, until recently when Jack started to plan with Billy (Jason Thompson) to get back Jabot from Phyllis. Kerry seems to want to stick with Phyllis, so Jack naturally has to question her loyalty. This surely spells trouble between the couple.
Jack wants to get the family business to the true blood Abbotts, and now is a good chance because of the mess Phyllis is dealing at the moment. They need to oust Phyllis as CEO and her involvement in the murder of J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) is an alas against her. If Kerry is not supportive of the coup Jack is setting up at Jabot, where does that leave their relationship? “The Young and the Restless” spoilers tease that this could only be a start of some bigger problems between the couple, which could lead to Kerry’s shocking exit.

, The stories they have been showing on Y&R lately are really boring, and the writers are not making any sense on a few of the stories that they have on now. I have watched since the beginning, and have not been very happy with the show. I find myself looking for movies to watch some days. I use to be anxious to watch Y&R everyday. Now not so much. I think the part on Mia is just awful. She is not interesting at all. Bring back some of the great actors you have let go in the last few years, and the writers that wrote good stories.
I have to agree with you Alice ! I to have been watching for years and the stories are really getting ” goofy ” and unbelievable . The viewers aren’t dumb , we see the flaws and illogical bs in the storylines. To bad the stories aren’t ”up to snuff ” like they used to be with our fav. characters . Hope the new writers bring some continuity to it all and bring back some loved stars . For sure tho’ Paul is retuning YIPEEEEEE!!!
Yes and why can’t yall let Jack be in love? He deserves to be happy.
