“The Young and the Restless” fans should mark their calendars, as daytime vet Doug Davidson’s return to the show is set for September 10. Genoa City Police Chief Paul Williams was last seen in in late July. What could he be up to when he returns? Will he be working on a massive case?
The actor announced his return on the show via Twitter. “Thank you for all your support and inquiries,” he said. “Paul will be back September 10th in the US, a day earlier in Canada.”
The American television actor has been off the canvas for a long time and many fans were worried that he might be leaving the show permanently. Viewers may recall that late last year, Davidson revealed that he had “no dates scheduled” after it seemed that his character will no longer appear on the show.

Young And The Restless News – Davidson Returned To The Show In March
Davidson has been with the show since 1978 and he has been one of the fan favorites. No wonder a lot of people didn’t like the idea that he’s no longer coming back. So they were really excited when he returned in March 2019.
The news about his return following a long hiatus broke back in February. Back then, he admitted ”Okay. So, the cat is out of the bag. None of any of this would happen without all of your undying loyalty, support, and kindness. All of you are the reason Paul is back on the canvas. Thank you so much.”
Davidson also gave Eric Braeden a special mention. He said Braeden (Victor) has been incredible the entire time. A huge thanks to him as well!”

Braeden expressed his excitement over Davidson’s return to Genoa City. He posted a photo of him and Davidson on Twitter and captioned, “He’s back!”
Davidson also posted a photo of the studio back in February. “Okay. It did feel like home.” He also told his fans, “Honestly, you are all so amazing. “I am beyond humbled. I love you all. Peace be with all of you.”

So glad to see my favorite Doug Davidson back. I have not watched this show since all the writers seem to have lost their minds.. cut the crap and grow some intelligence.
Love Paul – a normal guy ! We need him on the show ,down to earth , no lying or conniving – some say boring but there is enough of the lying and conniving from every body to go around on the show . Nikki and he have been on the show the longest – old friends now …. keep up the good work and keep doing what your doing Paul and so happy you are back in GC !!!
His return is actually around the same time as two new influencers arrive in town, so maybe the scandal he’ll be investigating is related to them. If so then I hope it’s the end of all this lame, cheesy influencer stuff and leads to Theo leaving town for good!
