Joseph Phillips is set to appear as Judge Sanchez on “The Young and the Restless” as he tackles the high-profile Newman custody case.
Apart from playing the role of Justus Ward on “General Hospital” from 1994 to 1998, Phillips is best known for his role as Martin Kendall on the NBC sitcom titled “The Cosby Show” from 1989 to 1991. His other acting credits include “Getty Played,” “Boogie Town,” and “Church.” He also appeared on “Search for Tomorrow,” “City of Angels,” “The King of Queens,” “The District,” “Jack & Bobby,” “Ghost Whisperer,” “The Mentalist,” and “13 Reasons Why.”
Viewers may recall that Chelsea was named as a suspect in the death of her husband, Calvin Boudreau (John Burke) after her ex-husband Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) made some dubious accusations. When Chelsea found Calvin dead in their hotel room, she immediately called Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) for help.
Adam was furious when he found out that she turned to Nick instead of him during her time of need. When Adam told her that he wanted them to be a family again together with Connor, Chelsea refused. Feeling hurt after getting rejected, Adam is bound to do the next logical thing and that is to get custody of his son, Christian.
Are there any characters coming or going from “The Young and the Restless?” One familiar face that returned on the screen is Eileen Davidson as Ashley Abbott on July 18. It seems like Davidson will stay for a while and that means Ashley may go back to Genoa City for another visit. Meanwhile, Wendy Benson Landes, who debuted on the sudser back in June, has finished her stint in the soap as Mallory, Jack’s friend. She was written off as her character left town following the death of her father.
