Young And The Restless News: Brytni Sarpy Teases Devon And Elena’s Love Story

Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) had been one of the most popular couples on “The Young and the Restless,” and many were heartbroken when Hilary had to die. For that reason, Brytni Sarpy did not expect it to be easy playing Elena Dawson as Devon’s new love interest, because fans may not easily accept it.
“I’m treading really lightly with this whole situation,” Sarpy admitted in an interview with Soaps In Depth. “I know how sensitive these shifts can be!”
Sarpy understands the challenge, and she’s up for it. When she played Valerie Spencer on “General Hospital,” she also came in between a favorite couple with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan).

She believes that the writers of “The Young and the Restless” are carefully writing Devon and Elena’s story, and they are doing a good job, putting in Hilary’s presence when Elena first met Devon.
“As scared as I was about it, I think Elena’s evolving relationship with Devon is being written very delicately. I haven’t heard much negative reaction so far!” Sarpy said.
So far, Elena has been warm and caring as a doctor, but she is also fighting her own demons. Her mother had an untimely death, and she’s feeling guilty about it because she’s been so much focused on her work than her family.

“I feel like Elena’s secrets are slowly coming out, with dealing with her mother’s death and that trauma,” Sarpy said, teasing that Elena might soon show a different side of her. I’d say that she’s a good person with baggage… but who knows?” Anything could happen!”
Sarpy is also having a great time so far since transitioning from “General Hospital” to “The Young and the Restless.” She is loving her new workplace at CBS, the environment and the people she’s working with.

“I would love to share scenes with everyone on the canvas,” she mused. “I think Y&R does a great job of bringing characters on and threading them together. The more Elena makes Genoa City her new life, the more chances I get to play with everyone!”

I LIKE ELENA AND DEVON AS COUPLE!!!!!!!!! IT JUST MIGHT BE THE RIGHT TIME FOR DEVON TO HAVE SOME HAPPNIES IN HIS LIFE
Devon is the most boring billionaire in the universe. He can’t act, and his head tilted back, glazed eye stare reminds me of Jussie Smollett.
The kindest thing YandR writers could do is to send Devon over the same cliff Drucilla went over.
None of the story lines have worked, with Devon involved. Jett has disappeared, Ana should disappear, and Elena is unconvincing as a physician. The new Nate is better than the old Nate, but not by much.
If the writers want to have minority story lines, hire good minority actors.
Send the entire Morales clan back to Miami, and get rid of Devon, and his clan.
Please.
And if the writers want to keep the lesbian story line, do something exciting with Mariah and Tessa. As it stands, they are the most boring lesbians in the universe, right up there with Devon.
Your comments sound so negative, Devon may not be the best actor on the show but he’s damn good. As far as your comments about Mariah and Tessa, let the writers do their job and write a good storyline for them. Note: Y&R is not just vanilla! Every type has to exist in GC.
Yep , he ‘s a little bit of boring. Jett is gone , Fen is gone ( they didn’t last long did they ) but I guess we are stuck with Ana ( and I guess the writers can only go ” so far ” with M & T with out outraging ” middle America ” lol )
