Young And The Restless News: Christel Khalil Teases Her New Job, Opens Up About Leaving Y&R

Christel Khalil, who plays Lily Winters on “The Young and the Restless,” was demoted to recurring role in 2018, but she’s keeping herself busy in other projects.
Khalil is now in Philadelphia to film a new film called “We Need to Talk.” The project, starring James Maslow and Emily Bett Rickards, is a comedy film, which Khalil is excited to do because she has not this genre before. “I’m really excited to be able to flex that muscle a little bit,” she told Soaps.com in an interview.
Khalil plays a girlfriend of a YouTube gamer, who tells him before she left for work that they need to talk. The boyfriend spent the whole day thinking about what she’s going to tell him.
“He goes into this tailspin for the day worrying about what I want to talk to him about. Am I breaking up with him? Am I pregnant or do I have an STD?” Khalil teased.
Meanwhile, Khalil confessed that not being in contract and having a stable job is kind of scary, but at the same time, it gives her flexibility. “I do have more freedom. I own my own time,” she said. “I’m able to do what I want when I want, which obviously is great.”
Going back to what happened to Lily on Y&R, Khalil thinks that Lily’s decision to divorce Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) was right. Lily was locked up in prison, away from her family, and with the infidelities in their relationship, Khalil believes the divorce made sense.
Now, Y&R are bring Cane and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) closer to each other, and Khalil is all for it. “I actually love it. I think it’s great,” she said, suggesting that we should not be weirded out by a woman being older than the guy.

“They’re actually closer in age than Daniel and I were,” she said. “It’s funny how when it’s an older man, we don’t think anything of it. When it’s an older woman, we are so weirded out by it.”
Meanwhile, there’s a possibility that Khalil will return to Y&R sometime in the near future as Iris, a character in the novel that Traci is writing. “It’s been nice to play a different character,” she said.

Her story line with her family was a bright spot. They had problems but managed to fight thru them.
Liked the side story of Traci writing her novel and the “imagining” a relationship in her mind. Finding now that I’ve had enough and no longer interested. And, are the things permanently gone? Seems so. Likely at “college” as Reed, Fen are long gone.

Yes l miss lily on the y&r she was down to earth she said what she thought and didn’t beat around the Bush.I hope she can come back even if it’s just for a character in Traci’s book. Do not team Cane with Traci he will only use her Traci needs a more mature man in her life.Cane has a son Sam that no one ever sees and no one talks about the poor child.Its like Sam doesn’t exist. And it’s like Cane doesn’t care .The nanny must be payed very well she has him 24/7
