With all the news and adjustments happening in the world regarding the coronavirus, Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher, The Young and the Restless) had some news of his own. He is apparently not feeling well and experience some coronavirus-like symptoms. In light of this, he had to quarantine himself from his husband and their son.
Y&R Actor Greg Rikaart Is Feeling Very Sick
In an Instagram post he noted, “So in case you missed it on Twitter, here goes. I’ve been mildly symptomatic since Friday/Saturday. 100.5 fever, tightness in my chest and a wet cough complete with some green phlegm. Before the fever, on Wednesday of last week, my dr said I had seasonal allergies. By Friday, he prescribed a Z-Pak, and yesterday, after zero abatements in symptoms following 3 days of antibiotics I tried to get in to see my doctor again, and hopefully be diagnosed with the flu but also be tested for coronavirus.”
The actor went on to say that he couldn’t get tested for Coronavirus because there aren’t any available testing kits. Mainstream media has reported there is a shortage of Coronavirus tests, which is affecting the statistics on the affected Americans.
“The good news is that the tightness and fever have reduced today somewhat BUT since my symptoms started I’ve not only been isolated from the world but isolated from my son and my husband. I found a doctor who makes house calls to come over today. I’m hoping I get diagnosed with the flu so I can relieve my SUPER DAD of a husband from three days of zero relief,” Rikaart wrote.
Young And The Restless News: Greg Rikaart Just Wants To Know If He Has The Flu
Greg went on to say that he’s hoping to get tested soon so he will know what type of quarantine his family needs to keep others safe. He’s secretly hoping he has the flu and not the deadly Coronavirus.
His co-stars were quick to send well-wishes. Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore) wrote, “Sending prayers that you feel better soon and that it’s just the flu. Love you.”
His onscreen love, Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell) wrote, “Get better! Glad you’re feeling a little better today” and Lauralee Bell (Christine Williams) wrote, “So grateful for that doctor who will come to help you! Lots of love. Be well”. Other co-stars also chimed in with well wishes.
Rikaart later provided an update noting that he still was not 100% whether it’s the virus or not. Don’t forget to come back later for more The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers, news, and casting updates!
