The Young and the Restless star Hunter King (Summer Newman) has just landed a brand new exciting role and it’s one that has a lot of fans wondering what this means for the actress and her future in daytime television. Here’s what you need to know.
According to the latest edition of CBS Soaps in Depth, the blonde beauty will be starring in a new comedy pilot called Prospect on the ABC network. What makes this incredibly exciting for Hunter is that she’s landed the lead role, too. Hunter stars as a teacher who has her hands full with a very rowdy classroom.

Hunter, herself is eager to get to work on the new comedy series. She recently tweeted, “Someone pinches me because this doesn’t feel real. I feel like the absolute luckiest girl in the world to be part of this.”
And while there might be some fans out there wondering how Hunter is going to juggle this project along with her filming schedule over at The Young and the Restless, this isn’t her first rodeo, so to speak. As many fans can recall, Hunter was also part of the CBS comedy series Life in Pieces until it was recently canceled by the network.

So far Hunter hasn’t made any additional comments about her new series, however, this hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about her future on The Young and the Restless. Seeing how her character Summer Newman has one foot out the door in Genoa City and how her romance with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) has crumbled into pieces as well, a lot of people think that Hunter herself might be moving on from the soap world. Keep Summer and Kyle as a couple , even if it means a recast but always leave door open if Hunter can come back…Kyle and Summer are just scorching hot together…leave them alone …
I love Summer and Phyllis. They add drama to the show. They cause trouble ever chance they get and there is no one who is safe from their wickedness.. Without them Y&R would be just as boring as B&B.
Oh, and leave Kyle with Summer. They deserve each other.
Summer and Kyle are very boring! They should not be together! Lola is a much better actress! Summer and Phyliss need to go, they are too trampled!
Phyllis needs to leave and get a life,,bring aaTTheo along..Amanda needs to leave as well,,Billy needs to get himself together and let Vicki come back to him..storylines not interesting and fans are leaving,,Kevin and Chloe should leave as well..
I am glad she leaving because the writers look stupid you loose Kola fans base like wise Kyle and Summer . who hell will tune in lol. I hate Kyle and Summer back together , The writers could written a better story for Kola fans but choose to a __ hole about everything. Summer and Kyle character are soap cross Love that will never work out. I know it fail from time it started. Kyle suit Lola far better,their love story took two years to develop ,the writers broke in week I story line that was fishy, lazy writing , and made no sense. Lazy writers at Y&R . They mess up a great couple in Kyle and Lola for what wasteless story plot . Hunter King actress who always leave and constantly looking for other work. really a shame.
Summer is boring and need to go.
Summmer should leave and never come back. Hate her.
